Donald W. (Mac) MacPherson, a West Point graduate & former Green Beret officer, is Board Certified as a specialist in both tax law & criminal law. Responsible for major criminal & civil litigation, he has tried over fifty-five federal & state criminal tax cases in twenty-five different states.  Mac has authored three tax books, appears regularly on radio & television talk shows, & wrote a weekly legal column for a national newspaper, The Spotlight.

Debra S. Arthur has been with the firm over 15 years & serves as legal assistant, especially in the areas of tax, bankruptcy & criminal law.   Debra is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where she received a B.A. in 1979.

Legal Assistants.  We utilize trained professionals who are not attorneys; they work with the client, but do not give independent legal advice. The legal assistant usually conducts the initial interview with the client, gathers the pertinent facts, & identifies the issues in summary form for the attorney.  After independent analysis, the attorney renders advice, which usually  consists of offering numerous options to the client.

Accountants & Investigators.  We also contract with independent accountants & investigators according to the needs of the client. Often the client requires return preparation or other litigation support.

Documents, Photos & Tapes.  The client should submit to the firm copies of documents, photos, tapes & other evidence, & retain originals. The firm shall not be responsible for any such evidence &, upon completion of services, may dispose of the file in a manner which safeguards confidences.
